# Credits and AI plans

Ponder runs on credits, and you can always see where they went. For plans, prices and credit packs, head to [ponder.ai/pricing](https://ponder.ai/pricing). If you already pay for ChatGPT or Claude, you can also run the agent on that plan instead.

## Where to check your credits

For a quick look while you edit, click the **Usage** icon in the top-left toolbar. It shows how many credits you have left, when your next ones arrive, and how much the project you're in has used so far.

For the full picture, open **Settings → Usage**. There you'll see your plan, when it renews, your remaining credits, and every project with how many credits it used. Monthly credits don't roll over, so use them while you have them.

## What each project used

Click any project in **Settings → Usage** to see its total, what share of this month's credits it took, and how that splits across types of work (like agent work and transcription) and across chats.

Usage is grouped by type of work, so you won't see a separate cost for every little thing the agent did.

## Use your own AI plan

If you're already paying for ChatGPT or Claude, you can run the Ponder agent on that plan instead of spending Ponder credits.

1. Open **Settings → AI models**.
2. Connect your ChatGPT or Claude plan.

That's all there is to it. From then on, the agent runs on your plan.

If your plan can't be reached for some reason, Ponder switches back to its own models so your work keeps going. That work uses your Ponder credits.

To pick a model and how deeply it thinks, see [Chats and models](/docs/using-ponder/chats-and-models).
