# Comments and @ mentions

Comments are how you leave notes on your edit while you watch it back. Each one is pinned to the moment you left it, so Ponder knows exactly what you're talking about. In the chat, you can also type **@** to point Ponder at a specific clip or file.

## Comments

You can send a comment to Ponder as soon as you write it, or save your comments up and send them all together. Saving them is handy when you'd rather watch the whole thing first and give all your notes in one go. Until you send them, you can still edit or delete any of them.

<Tip>
  People watching a [share link](/docs/export/share-links-and-rendering#share-a-link-to-your-edit) can leave comments too, and you can reply to them from Ponder.
</Tip>

## Point to a moment in the chat

A comment is a note pinned to a moment on your edit. You can also point to a moment in a chat message, as part of what you're asking for.

Ponder already knows where your playhead is when you send a message, so *"make this shot shorter"* works on its own.

You can also point to several moments, or a whole stretch of the edit, in a single message. That way one note like *"cut here, here and here"* is all it takes. See [Keyboard shortcuts](/docs/manual-controls/keyboard-shortcuts) for the keys.

## @ mentions for clips, folders and documents

Type **@** in the chat to point Ponder at a specific clip, folder or document, so there's no guessing about what you mean.

> Use @A\_0693.MP4 as the opening shot.

> Follow the shot order in @Shot List.pdf.

> Read @Brand Guidelines.pdf in full before doing anything else.

You don't have to type the name at all. You can drag clips, folders, timelines or documents from the Media Pool straight into the chat, or paste in a screenshot to show Ponder what you mean.

<Tip>
  Saying "this clip I selected" often doesn't work. Use @ or drag the clip into the chat instead.
