How to Save an Editing Style for Each Client or Brand
So much of editing is the same work on every video. You set the same fonts, captions and pacing each time, a client asks you to “make it look like the last one” and you go digging through old projects, and the first cut still looks nothing like the brand. That’s why we built styles.
Make a saved style for each client or brand, and every new edit starts with the right look. In Ponder, you go to Styles, name the style, add the client’s socials and pick the videos that look most like that brand.
What does Ponder learn from a style?
Ponder learns your fonts, captions, pacing, structure, motion graphics and other preferences, so your first cut already looks right and you never have to ask “wait, which font was it again?” If you already made a video in Ponder, you can turn it into a style too, and Ponder uses its captions, colors, fonts and pacing, plus your chat and what it remembers about you.
How do I make a new style?
You can start from a video you already made or from scratch.
From a video you already made
- Get the cut right first. Start from a project and keep iterating until it’s a really good final cut.
- Turn it into a style. Go to Styles and click make a style, and Ponder learns the look from that edit.
From scratch
- Create a style. Go to Customize, then Styles, and create a style. You can organize styles by brand, or start with a brand and create its styles under it.
- Add video references. Pick the videos that look most like the brand, and add the client’s socials too.
- Add things Ponder can reuse. Create or add sound effects, music, motion graphics and more, so Ponder can reuse them or choose from them in every edit.
- Check what Ponder picked up. Change anything you want, and you’re done.
What else should I know?
- What if the look changes? Just ask Ponder to update your style.
- How do I keep client work separate? Make at least one style for each client, and here’s more on managing multiple video editing clients.
- Can AI learn my own editing style too? Yes, and we explain how in Can AI Learn Your Editing Style?
Is it free to try?
Yes, there’s a Ponder free trial, so you can set up one client’s style and see how close the first cut gets.
If you love it, you can keep going for free by inviting a friend. Click the invite button in Ponder, and your friend gets a free month of Starter, then you get one too once they make and export their first cut.
