What Videos Can You Edit With Ponder AI?

Every kind of video comes with its own busywork. A wedding means syncing three cameras and hunting for the vows, a real estate tour means sorting dozens of near-identical room shots, and a podcast means cutting the ums and tangents out of an hour of talking

We built Ponder to take that busywork, whatever you shoot. You bring the footage and describe the video you want, Ponder makes the first cut, and then you review it and make it yours

Here’s how that works for the videos people make most, followed by every feature you can use along the way.

How do I edit a wedding video with AI?

A wedding gives you hours of footage from two or three cameras plus audio from a lav and a recorder, and the couple wants a few minutes that make them cry.

Drop in every camera and audio file without sorting anything. Ponder syncs them into a multicam edit and finds the getting ready shots, the vows, the speeches and the first dance. Then describe the film the way you’d brief a second shooter:

Make a 3-minute highlight film. Open on getting ready, build to the vows, and end on the first dance with the best line from the dad’s speech.

Once it feels right, ask for a 60-second teaser for Instagram and a full ceremony edit from the same footage. Couples book you for your look, so save it as a style once and every wedding after that starts there.

How do I edit a real estate video with AI?

A listing shoot is lots of similar clips (every room from a few angles, plus the exterior and drone shots), and the agent usually wants a polished tour the same day with a vertical version for socials.

Drop in the clips and tell Ponder the order of the tour:

Make a 60-second listing tour. Start with the drone shot of the front, walk through the living room, kitchen and main bedroom, and end on the backyard. Put the address and price on screen at the start.

Ponder finds the best take of each room and puts them in order. Then ask for music that fits the home and a 9:16 cut for Instagram and TikTok. If you work with several agencies, save each one’s logo, fonts and end card as its own style so every listing looks like theirs.

What about vlogs, YouTube videos and shorts?

Vlogs and YouTube videos usually start with a full card of clips and the best moments buried somewhere in it. Describe the story and how it should feel, and Ponder cuts it in your style.

For long YouTube videos, ask Ponder to tighten the pacing, add b-roll over the talking parts and drop in a music track that fits each section. Then turn the same video into shorts by asking for several clips, each with a different hook, sized for YouTube Shorts, Reels and TikTok. How to Make Winning Shorts: Test Hooks, Edit Fast covers how to test those openers.

How do I edit a podcast or interview with AI?

Podcasts and interviews are mostly people talking, usually with a camera on each person and audio recorded separately, so most of the work is cleaning up what they said.

Drop in every camera and audio file, and Ponder syncs up to four camera angles into one multicam group for you. Then open the transcript and edit the video like a doc. Delete the words, ums and tangents you don’t want, and they’re cut from the video, which is the fastest way we know to clean up an A-roll heavy video.

When the full episode is done, ask Ponder to pull the best moments as short clips for socials, each one starting on a strong line.

What about company and corporate videos?

Customer testimonials, product explainers, event recaps and internal updates all have to follow the brand and get through a round of approvals.

Save the company’s logo, fonts, colors and end card as a style, and every video starts on brand. When it’s ready for feedback, share a link so your team or client can comment on what the video needs, then ask Ponder to work through their comments so you don’t have to copy and paste them.

What can Ponder do for any of these videos?

  • Prep your footage. Ponder can sync your cameras and audio, pull selects and lay out stringouts.
  • Edit multicam shoots. Bring up to four camera angles into one synced group, review it in Ponder, then carry it into your editing app. More in How to Edit a Multicam Podcast or Interview With AI.
  • Edit by describing it. “Make it calmer.” “Open on the reaction.” “Cut it to 30 seconds.” Type it or just say it.
  • Keep your look. Save your style, or each client’s, and Ponder cuts new footage to match.
  • Review it like you’d brief an editor. In review mode you talk through your notes and point or scribble on the frame, and Ponder changes only what you asked about.
  • Edit the transcript. Delete words from the transcript and they’re cut from the video.
  • Share a link for feedback. Friends or clients comment on the video, and Ponder works through their comments for you.
  • Edit by hand whenever you want. Use the keyboard shortcuts you already know, and drag in ready-made sound effects, motion graphics and text.
  • Generate what’s missing. If you need a music track, a photo or an extra shot, ask Ponder to make it.
  • Make versions. Get different hooks, lengths and formats from the same footage.
  • Finish in your editing app. Send the cut to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut or iMovie. See what carries over to your editing app.
  • Work from Claude or ChatGPT. Connect your assistant, or run Ponder on the plan you already pay for. More in Can Claude Edit Videos?
