Once you have a rough cut, you can keep shaping it just by asking. Ponder is good at changes like these:
  • hitting an exact length, or the length of a song,
  • cutting faster, even with different timing for different kinds of shots,
  • tightening the pacing by taking out filler words and long pauses without clipping words,
  • swapping the music and re-fitting the edit to the new track,
  • finding one particular B-roll shot and putting it in,
  • fixing B-roll that doesn’t match what the speaker is saying,
  • swapping a clip for one shot in a different orientation.
It makes these changes the way you would in an editing app, with frame-exact splits, trims and moves, working across tracks and gaps, and even across several timelines at once.

Color, sound, titles and graphics

Ponder can take your edit well past the rough cut. Ask for any of these in the chat, the same way you’d ask for any other change. A few things worth knowing:
  • Got a LUT you like? Send it to Ponder and ask it to apply it. If you shot in log, add your camera’s color profile first so the grade starts from accurate color.
  • Motion graphics sit on their own layer above your footage, so they’re never baked into your clips and you can change or remove them whenever you like.
  • To use a stock music library, connect it first. See Connectors.
To see how all of this carries over to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and CapCut, see What carries over to your editing app.

Want to see options?

You can ask for a few directions before you commit to one:
Give me 3 different directions for this.
Or open a new chat for each direction and ask for a separate timeline in each, so your main cut stays untouched. See Chats and models.

Leave notes as you watch

Leave comments on the moments you want changed. See Comments.

Keep changes where you want them

If you only want one part changed, say so, and mention the timeline and the clip or moment you mean. You can also make changes yourself while the agent is working. See Edit alongside the agent.
